The box was also missing the carpet spikes that screw into the base which I needed.This is a shame as I was very excited when I got these but have been let down by no custome service and a lack of quality control. Well.Speaker stands are nice but unfortunately the ones I received were damaged on one of the base's. At least delivery was prompt hence the 1 star. I would go so far as to say these may have been second hand or at least opened for some reason.Think twice before you buy. It had a dent on the edge and the paint had flaked off, must have been a big bang as the bases are very solid. I did email the company and heard nothing back.
If you buy the HKS-9 - Satellite Speakers, or the HKTS-18 5.1 Channel Speaker System: USE THESE, they are PERFECT.
I'm not really worried at all if someone bumps into them cause I know they aren't that easy to just knock over. This means at the top of the stand you don't have strands of wire hanging out.The base is made of Iron I believe which makes them super sturdy. Considering the price of other stands you can buy for cheaper, you pay a little extra for these stands but they just look stunning. The wires are completely inside the stand and connect to the bottom of the speaker.
Happily the stands arrived in 3 business days, safely packed and all is well. I took the chance and ordered them directly from Vann's to get the discount since this wasn't an electronic component and I wasn't in any hurry for them. Usually I prefer to buy through Amazon because their return policy is excellent and I've never had any problems with them. Bought 2 sets of these stands for our new Harmon Kardon HKTS 18 surround sound speakers. Thanks Amazon, Vann's and reviewers. The cleats on the bottom keep them stable on the carpeting, yet I like the fact that we can still move them a little further out or closer in depending on the number of people we have in the room and where they are sitting.After reading the other reviews, I called Vann's to ask if they were still offering a discount if you were buying 2 sets of stands. They are easy to assemble, sturdy and attractive. They took $10.00 off of each set.
Vann's price is $99 a pair and free next day shipping. Amazon shows two vendors for this item. Check the price thoroughly, with shipping and delivery times, before ordering. What a HUGE difference. Toyzz and Vann's. Toyzz charges $199 a pair and $24.99 for shipping with a three week wait.
